Frome up to 4th in the league!!Frome 2nds 5 City of Bath 3rds 2
Frome secured 3 points from this league fixture played in a good atmosphere with everyone playing their part. Frome started well with Cicely Hunt making some great driving runs down the left well supported by Doris Peet and Andree Williams in the middle. With plenty of possession Frome looked confident and from their first short corner Janie Bullus opened the scoring with a well struck shot. Cicely doubled the lead when she slotted in from close range after another short corner move. Hannah Cooper opened her account for the seconds when from an acute angle she slotted home and Frome looked like they had the game sewed up. Bath though had other ideas and scored two goals in quick succession when Frome were caught napping at the back. At half time sweeper Alice Gomes enforced the marking of players and to stick with them where ever they went! What ever she said did the trick as Ali Milton and Georgie Ryan all made telling interceptions turning defence in to attack, leaving Bath open at the back, which Frome exploited to good effect. Hannah got her 2nd goal, again from a well struck shot but was denied her hat trick when the Bath keeper made a great save with her stick. Janie too was denied by the keeper but from another short Andree hit a first time shot which the keeper failed to save. The score line might appear flattering to Frome but Ingrid Dale in goal was called upon, but as ever all attacks were dealt with efficiently by her and her fellow defenders. Tilly Marsh making her debut for the 2nds performed well, getting stuck in and making her presence felt. Another great team performance from the 2nds who have a rearranged match next week home v Bath 2.00pm
