Frome 1st XI 1 Westberries 1

Frome faced second top of the league this week. They know this would be a challenging game but they came out strong, fighting from the start. Despite some excellent linking work down the right wing from Sophie Elwood and Lottie Culbraith Frome were unsuccessful and disappointed not to take the lead. The Frome defence faced a number of attacks form Westberries and were unlucky to concede a goal. However Frome did not let this dampen their spirits, very quickly equalising through Rachel Stokes from a short corner. The team continued to thwart off the Westberries attacks, keeping it at a deadlock till half time.

The last time these two teams meet it ended in a one all draw. Therefore Frome know it would be a tough battle to see this game out. The second half saw Frome defend numerous short corners and with exceptional goal keeping from Carla Travis who also saved a penalty flick to keep Frome in the game. With an outstanding team effort Frome managed to maintain the score line till the final whistle.
