Frome 1st XI 0 Wimbourne Wayfayers Ladies 4Frome ladies 1st XI had a challenging game this week up against Wimborne.
Frome started the game well with the majority of possession in the first 15 minutes. However, they then started to lose their structure, which Wimborne took to their advantage and put the pressure on Frome’s defence.
The first half was very end to end with Frome unfortunately missing a few chances, with Netty Cayford just hitting one wide from a short corner. Although, Wimborne managed to snatch a goal giving them a 1-0 lead at half time.
The second half was very much like the first, with Aileen Watson making some good runs down the left, getting the ball to the forwards; Lottie Culblaith, Jodie Portingale and Tara Jess, but Wimborne’s keeper wasn’t letting anything get passed her.
Wimborne made it 2-0 from a very skilful reverse flick into the goal.
Frome couldn’t seem to get much play up the right wing and found themselves having to defend a great deal more towards the end of the game.
The final score was 4-0 after two final goals scored on the break. Frome hope to get a better result next week. |
