Frome 3rd vs Melksham 2

Frome 3rds 2: 1 Melksham

Captain Jo Shailes has led her team to victory once again this season. Second from bottom, Frome, went into the match as the underdogs, against 2nd in the league, Melksham. Frome took the first push-back, and attacked hard, giving Melksham defence something to think about. Sweeper, Ali Seaward scored a goal within the first 2 minutes, putting Frome ahead. Melksham made some good breaks and were very fast on the attack. The Frome defence worked hard, with keeper Jo Payne, making some brilliant saves, but even with the best efforts by the defence, Melksham managed to get a goal back, making the half time score 1-1.
Throughout the game, player of the match, defender, Heather Anderton, made some great breaks, pushing Frome forward on the attack, and working hard with the defence team, Hannah Richards, Alice Harnden and Kiah Rance, to prevent Melksham scoring anymore goals, despite their best efforts. The play was end to end throughout the game, and started to look like it would remain a draw. Frome were on the attack again, and the winning goal was perfectly executed by Becky Meecham, set up by Nikki Lank, who was the strength of Frome attack throughout the match. Everyone worked hard, for Frome. Midfielder, Hannah Whitcombe, tackled well, winning the ball on numerous occassions. Rotating forwards, Helen Keniston and Emily Woodward, assisted in pushing Frome forward and keeping the ball in the attacking D.
Frome played well, with accurate passing and good communication. This win is a credit to how they have progressed as a team throughout the season.

Player of the match Heather Anderton.
