The match started with swift retention of the ball from Frome's push back, with some swift movement from the left side from Tillie Marsh and Becky Godfrey, the first attack on the Chippenham goal keeper started.

The first half saw Frome using the space of the pitch and taking full advantage of their forwards, Helen Kenniston, Becky Meecham and Ali Burge to pressure Chippenhams defence into making a mistake. With good team work Frome kept the ball in their attacking D, but unsuccessfully did not get a goal. With a sudden break from Chippenham, they took the ball up the centre of the pitch and it was one on one and a short corner was given. With a fantastic run out from Kiah Rance to the receiver she put them off for the first attempt at goal, Chippenham took the score to 0-1 just before half time.
